Paraffin-embedded sections of knee joints were subjected to Safranin O/fast green, H&E, and IHC staining for analyses of IL-18 expression. (B–D) The severity of knee OA was assessed by cartilage degeneration scores (CDS), synovial membrane inflammation scores, and Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) scores.
