Figure 1.Protective effects of dexmedetomidine (Dex) on ischemia/reperfusion (I/R)-induced neuronal death. (A) Neuro-2a cells were exposed to 5, 10, 20 μM Dex for 24 h, and cell viability was measured. (B) Neuro-2a cells were treated with 10 μM Dex for 3, 6, 12, and 24 h, and cell viability was measured. (CE) The effects of Dex on I/R-induced insults. Neuro-2a cells were treated with 10 μM Dex, received ischemia for 3 h then reperfusion for 24 h (I/R). Cell viability was analyzed (C), and DNA fragmentation was quantified with an ELISA method (D). The apoptotic cells were quantified by Annexin V/PI staining and statistically analyzed (E). n = 3 for each group; *P < 0.05, compared with the Control group; #P < 0.05, compared with the OGD/R group.
