mTORC1-Sch9 regulates hydrogen sulfide production through the transsulfuration pathway

class="figure-viewer-img"

Figure 4. Deletion of SCH9 increases intracellular cysteine which regulates H2S production. (A) H2S production was recorded 48 hours after inoculation of WT and Δsch9 TB50a cells in the absence of methionine and in the presence of the indicated concentration of cysteine in the SDC medium by using lead acetate strips. (B) Intracellular levels of cysteine in WT and Δsch9 cells in the TB50a background transformed with pRS316-SCH9 or empty vector were measured by acid ninhydrin reagent. (C) Intracellular levels of cysteine in WT and Δsch9 TB50a cells were measured by acid ninhydrin reagent in the absence of methionine and in the presence of the indicated concentration of cysteine in the medium.
