miR-224 aggravates cancer-associated fibroblast-induced progression of non-small cell lung cancer by modulating a positive loop of the SIRT3/AMPK/mTOR/HIF-1α axis

(A) CAFs were co-cultured with NSCLC cell lines (A549) for 24 h using Transwell chambers, and a miRNA array was carried out to determine the expression of miRNAs in CAFs. Top ten miRNAs, which were significantly up-regulated or down-regulated, were shown. (B, C) CAFs were co-cultured with NSCLC cell lines (A549 and H1299) for 24 h. We determined miR-224 expression in both CAFs and NSCLC cells by RT-PCR. (D) The level of miR-224 in the co-culture medium of CAFs-NSCLCs was evaluated by RT-PCR.
