Overexpression of HPRT1 could activate the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, thus promoting the mRNA expression of Nurr-1, Pitx-3, Ngn-2 and NeuroD1 in the substantia nigra tissues, which ultimately rescues the dopaminergic neuron loss in this 6-OHDA-induced PD mouse model.
