Effects of XIAP on high fat diet-induced hepatic steatosis: a mechanism involving NLRP3 inflammasome and oxidative stress

class="figure-viewer-img"

Figure 2. XIAP blocking promotes metabolic syndrome and hepatic steatosis in HFD-fed mice. (A) Alteration of mice body weight in ItsiRNA or ItsiXIAP, and co treated with prolonged HFD ingestion group was examination every 4 weeks. (B) Fasting blood glucose levels (left) and fasting serum insulin levels (right) in mice fed with NCD or HFD for 0 or 12 weeks. (C) The ratio of liver weight to body weight was measured. (D) Representative hematoxylin-eosin (HE)-stained and sirius red-stained liver sections. (E) The steatosis, necrosis, inflammation, ballooning and NAS score were quantified. (F) Serum AST, ALT, AKP and (G) Serum endotoxin at 12 weeks were measured. For all bar plots shown, data are expressed as the mean ± SEM. n = 8 per group. ap < 0.05 vs. ItsiRNA/SCD or ItsiXIAP/SCD. bp < 0.05 vs. ItsiRNA/HFD.n.s., no significant difference.
